Mariantria Christofi

Counselling Psychologist MSc

Mariantria Christofi is a Counselling Psychologist working with adults and adolescents, offering both in-person and online sessions in Greek and English.

She completed both her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and her Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology at Neapolis University Pafos. Her professional experience includes the SKEPSI Practical Centre at Neapolis University Pafos as well as SPAVO, where she has worked alongside individuals with a wide range of experiences, needs and psychological difficulties.

Her therapeutic work draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), attachment-based approaches, trauma-informed practice, creative and art-based techniques, and the BASIC Ph model. She has also completed training in Israel focusing on trauma and the BASIC Ph model.

Her therapeutic style is warm and compassionate while also being direct, structured and reflective. She believes that therapy can include humour when appropriate and that meaningful therapeutic work sometimes requires gently challenging the ways we have learned to understand ourselves, other people and our relationships.

She works with concerns including anxiety, stress, self-esteem, relationships, attachment, personal boundaries, trauma, emotional regulation, family difficulties. She also provides an affirming and non-judgmental space to explore concerns related to sexuality, sexual relationships and intimacy, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, as well as experiences and concerns relevant to LGBTQ+ individuals.

My view of therapy

"For me, therapy is a space where you can be yourself without the roles that everyday life hands us. I look forward to meeting the real you. Are you?"

Therapeutic Approach

-----------------------------------------------------

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy — CBT

CBT explores the relationship between our thoughts, emotions and behaviours. Through a collaborative and often structured process, therapy can help identify patterns that may be contributing to current difficulties and develop alternative ways of understanding and responding to them.

Attachment-Based Approach

Attachment-based work considers how our experiences within important relationships can influence the ways we connect with others, trust, seek closeness, respond to distance and understand ourselves within relationships.

Rather than reducing someone to an "attachment style," attachment theory can be used as one framework for understanding relational patterns and the experiences underlying them.

Trauma-Informed Practice

A trauma-informed approach recognises that difficult or traumatic experiences may influence a person's sense of safety, relationships, emotional responses and connection with their body.

The therapeutic process therefore places particular emphasis on safety, choice, collaboration, respect and reducing the possibility of recreating experiences of helplessness or loss of control.

Creative & Art-Based Techniques

Where appropriate, creative and art-based techniques can provide another way of exploring emotions and experiences that may sometimes be difficult to communicate through words alone.

BASIC Ph

BASIC Ph is a multimodal framework for understanding how people cope with stress, crisis and difficult experiences.

It considers six potential coping channels:

B — Belief: values, beliefs and meaning
A — Affect: emotions
S — Social: relationships and social support
I — Imagination: imagination and creativity
C — Cognition: thinking and problem-solving
Ph — Physiology: the body, movement and physical responses

The model recognises that people do not all cope in the same way. Understanding a person's existing coping resources, while developing greater flexibility in how they respond to difficulties, can form part of the therapeutic process.

Vasiliki Panteli

Counselling Psychologist, MSc

Vasiliki Panteli is a Counselling Psychologist with an MSc in Counselling Psychology and two years of training in Systemic Psychotherapy. She completed both her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and her Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology at Neapolis University Pafos.

Her professional experience includes working at SPAVO – Paphos Shelter, providing psychosocial support to women and families affected by domestic or intimate partner violence, participating in crisis management and collaborating with different professionals and services. During her supervised placement at S.K.E.P.S.Y., Neapolis University Pafos, she also provided counselling and therapeutic sessions for children, adolescents and adults.

Her therapeutic work is primarily informed by a systemic perspective. Rather than focusing solely on an individual or a symptom, systemic therapy considers the wider context of a person's life — including relationships, family dynamics, roles, communication patterns and the systems within which they live.

Her training also includes Systemic Sculpture, Narrative Reconstruction, Couple Therapy, Working with Silence & Early Childhood Focus, together with other systemic and experiential techniques. She has additionally used counselling and cognitive-behavioural techniques as part of her clinical training.

Her aim is to create a safe and meaningful therapeutic relationship in which people can explore their difficulties, develop a deeper understanding of recurring patterns in their lives and relationships, and discover different ways of relating, communicating and responding to challenges.

Her professional skills include active listening, psychosocial assessment, crisis management, systemic case understanding, psychoeducation and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Therapeutic Approach

-------------------------------------------------

Systemic Psychotherapy

Systemic Psychotherapy understands the individual within the context of the relationships and systems they are part of, such as family, romantic relationships and the wider social environment. Therapy explores recurring patterns of communication, roles and relationships, and how these may be connected to the difficulties a person is experiencing. Rather than focusing on who is "to blame," the aim is to understand how the system functions and what can change within it.

Narrative Reconstruction

Narrative Reconstruction allows individuals to explore the stories they have developed about themselves, their relationships and their experiences. Therapy can create space for alternative perspectives and narratives that are not defined solely by difficulties or past experiences.

Systemic Sculpture

Systemic Sculpture is an experiential technique that can help explore relationships, emotional distance, roles and family dynamics. It can offer another way of understanding patterns that may be difficult to express through words alone.

Cognitive-Behavioural Techniques

As part of her training, Vasiliki has also worked with cognitive-behavioural techniques that explore the connection between thoughts, emotions and behaviours and can support the identification and exploration of patterns that may be contributing to current difficulties.
